Summer can be so chaotic. Kids are constantly begging for “later bedtimes”. They lounge around watching TV, playing video games, and complaining about “doing nuthin'” and being bored. They need to be entertain or they end up getting into a lot of trouble and making a lot of mess. This is why schedules and structure is also important.
So, in this week’s Facebook Live, I talked about our Power Hour. We started this last year. It helps ensure two things:
First, that the kids are constantly doing enrichment activities and that they are not just sitting in front of the screen.
Second, it guarantees me an hour a day of calm quiet time where I can catch up on emails, make dinner, or just sit and read a book.
The Power Hour ensures my sanity!
