So you took my advice and planned a meal using spaghetti squash. Now you’re in your kitchen staring at the whole squash thinking, what have I done, I have no ideas how to roast spaghetti squash and my kids will never think this is spaghetti! Take heed my mom friend, you’ve got this! And while it’s baking you can catch up on a quick Netflix episode or read a book to your little. #momwin
Spaghetti squash is so easy to prepare…literally, minutes to just get it on the baking dish and throw it in the oven. Plus, the flavor is incredibly mild and once you top it all off with your favorite marinara sauce, your kids won’t even notice!
Spaghetti squash needs time in the oven before it becomes tender enough to eat. So grab your baking dish, a large knife and spoon, set the oven and let your kitchen do the work.
It will take about 8 minutes to prep the squash. The quickest way to get this dinner on the table is to cut the squash in half and place it facedown in a baking dish. Add a little water to the pan; the steam helps keep surfaces of the squash from drying out. 40 minutes in the oven and dinner is served.
If you are going to combine the squash with pasta noodles you can prepare the pasta while the spaghetti squash is baking. Simple, easy, nutritious, yummy dinner served with little effort.
