A traditional hummus recipe includes tahini. We took it up a notch with delicious, roasted golden beets. Adding beets to hummus allows you to enjoy all the nutritional benefits of beets. Beets are high in many vitamins and minerals, and provide an abundance of antioxidants. I find golden beets are preferred by kids over red beets , as they have a sweeter and less earthy flavor. I also think the bright golden color of this hummus is very appealing.
Serve with pita chips. This makes a wonderful snack or appetizer. Eat up!
